Sketchbook Revival 2026 is back!

I'm excited to tell you about something fun that you might like to be part of. The Sketchbook Revival Challenge is back and registration has just opened for this annual event organised by Karen Abend. I'm thrilled to once again be one of the artists teaching on this event.

In need of a creative spark? Join us and discover ideas for creative projects in your sketchbook. From 11 to 21 April thirty five artists will be sharing some of our favourite techniques and processes in brand new lessons that will inspire you to play and explore further.

In mine, we'll explore patterns. There is a wonderful freedom in letting marks, shapes, and repetition guide us to create rhythm and patterns. You'll learn how to incorporate these playful, creative and meditative processes in your own artworks. Whether you're drawing organic flowing patterns, geometric explorations, or abstract mark-making, you'll discover how patterns can become a language all their own.

What makes this challenge special?

The Sketchbook Revival Challenge is about showing up, experimenting, and giving yourself permission to play. You'll have access to sessions from thirty five artists exploring a wide variety of topics from botanicals to lettering, and characters to abstracts in all kinds of mixed media. There's a lot to choose from so pick the lessons that call to you. Skip what doesn't, there are no rules.

How it works

  • Eleven days of inspiring sessions which you can watch whenever it suits you.

  • A welcoming community sharing their sketchbook pages

  • Free access to everything

  • An extra week beyond the eleven days to keep exploring

  • Generous freebies from the artists!

Whether you join every day or just a few sessions, the challenge works for you wherever you are.
