What's the course it about?
Gel plate printing is a way to print and layer colours, marks and shapes that’s revolutionised art making for many. This process allows for all kinds of techniques in different water based material to be used.
Since 2024 I’ve been using gel plates in my in-person retreats, I love the freedom of this method, so this year I developed a three week long, jam packed course around them.
More than printing
The gel plate is a versatile tool that allows creatives to experiment with ways to print layers of colours, textures, patterns as well as a surface to transfer drawings and marks onto paper. It's a brilliant way to create beautiful papers for collage and make bold prints on paper and other substrates with ease.
This deep dive long course runs from 14 September to 4 October and contains three themed, week long modules where we’ll explore different techniques and methods to create artworks in a variety of colour moods.
Develop your unique creative voice
This course is suitable for artists of all levels of experience, novices to professional artists are welcome.
In my courses I teach ways to break down complex processes and simplify techniques in order to build upon them. Attention to the development of creativity is at the heart of my teaching and the projects in this course will help students to embrace their own unique way of creating.
Work at a pace that suits you
Print, Paint and Patternruns from 14 September to 4 October with four projects released daily each week from Monday to Thursday, followed by a fifth, bigger assignment project over the weekend.
All lessons are pre-recorded, edited and delivered in easy to digest portions. Lessons come with subtitles in five languages.
With 18 months’ access to the course you'll have plenty of time to do the projects at a pace to suit you, you can revisit them and dip back into lessons as well.
I will be on hand to answer questions in a dedicated classroom group where you can share your work and get feedback.

As a kickstart to Paint, Print & Pattern, you can see the warmup lessons when they are released on the weekend of 11-13 September completely FREE.
Bundled as Play with Print, these projects are themed around vessel-shapes, minimal materials are used and you will get to explore different ways to use small ink pads and erasers as tools for printing and transferring colour, patterns and marks onto paper. Gel plate printing is not used during the warmup lessons.
The vessel forms are then enhanced with different materials from colour pencils to markers, watercolour paint and more before this concept is expanded upon and used in the full course.
